Visitors to some of Scotland’s biggest festivals are being encouraged to go green this summer by planning their trip using the country’s first ever interactive tourism e-brochure.
VisitScotland’s new Events and Festivals online brochure is being sent to over one and a half million potential festival goers around the UK and has the potential to reach and audience closer to two million.
The high tech move will save enough paper to cover the length of the entire UK coastline which is 18, 076 kilometres long.
40 percent of all visitors to the UK take in a festival during a short break. Providing information on our world class arts scene in this accessible format will show potential visitors that there’s always something new to do and encourage them to book a trip and experience it for themselves.

Riddell Graham, Chief Executive of Scottish Borders Tourist Board said; "The Border Union Dog Show is one of a growing number of events in the region which are proving extremely popular with both locals and visitors alike. It’s a great event which provides important revenue for our accommodation providers, shops and restaurants through visiting dog owners, but which also provides potential visitors with an additional reason to visit the Borders, either for a day trip or as part of a short break. This type of activity can only help with our ultimate aim of becoming Scotland’s leading short break destination."

The Border Union Dog Show runs from 9am – approx 4pm on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16. Entry costs £2, or £4 for a car and 2 adults. More information on the Dog Show is available by calling Tel: 01573 224383.
